Located in the heart of Los Chacayes, Rope Restaurant captivates with its sober lines and contemporary language. A project by GO&V Arquitectos.

Like a natural pause in the middle of a dreamlike landscape, “Restaurante Rope” by La Vigilia rests serenely. With a privileged location in “The Vines of Mendoza,” Tunuyán, and set on the gentle slopes of the Andean foothills, the warmth and character of the restaurant connect its visitors with the imposing nature and panoramic views. An architectural project by GO&V Arquitectos.

Structure and Concept: Restaurante Rope

The architecture of the site is resolved on a single level, with a contained horizontal volumetry that balances harmoniously with the vastness of the surroundings, precisely framing the Andes as a natural scenic backdrop.

The use of pigmented exposed aggregate concrete in earthy tones, along with corten steel (oxidized, matte, and earthy), allows the building to emerge as a mineral, almost organic element.

An articulated axial axis leads to the entrance and organizes the circulation, enhancing the arrival experience as a ritual-like transition between the landscape and the interior.

A layout designed to accommodate sixty diners, whose interior space continues the serene gesture of the architecture, featuring a palette that is both austere and warm. This is achieved through exposed concrete, natural wood, and high-quality textiles.

Infinite Views

The gaze extends outward from the warm interior of Restaurante Rope, connecting—even from various outdoor deck lounges—a memorable dining experience with views that intoxicate the senses.

The interior space is contained yet visually open, with large glass planes that blur the boundaries between the interior and the landscape.

The lighting, meanwhile, was designed to accompany the slow rhythm of the dining experience, without competing with the absolute prominence of the surroundings. “Every detail has been conceived to create an atmosphere of intimacy, contemplation, and sensory enjoyment”, the restaurant team explained.

La Vigilia Winery

“We are the space dedicated to awakening your senses”, the website declares with full authority, once one experiences everything the winery and restaurant have to offer.

La Vigilia—the time that exists when one observes, until discovering that which shines—is the central idea and promise for those who wish to disconnect from the world for a while, fully connecting with the “here” and “now.”
